New legal/financial upstart firm is seeking a part-time self-starting Administrative Assistant to assist in the operation of the office.
25 hours per week Monday through Friday (M 10 to 5, Tu 10 to 5, W 10 to 1, Th 10 to 5, F 10 to 2).
Occasional evening are required.
Starting pay is $20 per hour non-negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial and legal research , including gather relevant information for cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing financial and legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, applications and contracts
- Organize and maintain financial and legal files and documents using document management systems
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings with clients.
Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, taking messages, and handling correspondence
- Assist with financial and legal case management, including organizing case files and tracking deadlines
- Perform data entry tasks to update and maintain financial and legal databases
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years experience as an Administrative Assistant.
Strong legal background preferred.
Paralegal/Legal Secretary experience helpful but not required
- Knowledge of financial and legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with document management systems like WordPerfect and Word
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with legal case management software such as Lexis-Nexis is a plus
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong research skills to gather relevant information for cases
