Job Summary We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our Sales & Marketing team working on our cutting edge 5G transport products.
This is a highly technical position that requires the individual to be an expert in Radio Access Network (RAN), Ethernet and IP technologies and systems engineering, while at the same time enjoying customer engagements, presentations, demos, and support.
While this position is mostly externally facing, the Solutions Architect is responsible for understanding customer technical requirements and communicating these to the Product Manager.
What you'll do The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Business Development team in all pre-sales activities: Accompany Business Development to customer and partner meetings and present the value proposition of the 5G product family.
Deliver product presentations and product demonstrations engaging the customers at a technical level, while supporting Canoga’s business development strategy.
Engage customers in technical discussions about the evolution of their 5G network or planned network, while promoting the value of Canoga Perkins’ 5G offering and that of its partners.
Canoga Perkins has a state-of-the-art 5G demonstration lab.
The candidate will keep current on all lab developments, changes, and demo procedures by periodically interfacing with Product Development.
The candidate must be able to execute and clearly explain any of the demonstrations created in the 5G lab and, therefore, must master the configuration of the equipment therein.
Update all demo material (e.
g.
, presentations, one-page demo descriptions) as the demos evolve and are updated.
At all times, be up to date on product development and roadmap for the 5G products.
The candidate must feed back all relevant information and technical/features requested by customers to the Product Team.
Respond to the customer’s technical questions in a timely manner and provide training on any evaluation equipment at the customer location.
Support the successful adoption of the 5G product at the customer by providing technical support.
Periodically summarize the nature of interactions with customers to Business Development, update them on project progress and escalate problems should they arise.
Travel approximately 25% or more of the time for customer meetings, conferences, and other events.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
What we're looking for The successful candidate will have experience in or knowledge of: Communications systems engineering Ethernet and IP network engineering 3GPP and O-RAN technologies for the Radio Access Network (4G/5G) and 5G New Radio Cloud, virtualization and containerization, especially hyperscalers offerings for Mobile Edge Compute Wireless (802.
11, 3GPP) and wireline (Ethernet, IP, MPLS) LAN technologies IEEE 802.
1 LAN/MAN bridging technologies, with special emphasis on the TSN work IETF routing standards, such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, SRv6, SR-MPLS, etc How to traffic engineer a network and how RSVP algorithms work Performance management for IP and Ethernet networks What would be useful It would be useful and advantageous for the candidate to have experience in or knowledge of: Software Defined Networking Data center architecture and Orchestration technologies URLLC and Time-Sensitive Networking Industrial IoT and massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC) Cyber-physical systems engineering, AI Switching architectures, FPGA, ASIC, etc.
Must Have The successful candidate must have: 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for a wireless or wireline solutions vendor (or closely related field).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A high level of comfort presenting to large groups.
The ability to convey complex notions/systems/technologies in a way that it is simple to understand.
The ability to work independently and be self-motivated and a self-starter.
The ability to maintain an excellent rapport with customers and develop trust.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Graduate degree a plus.
