If you’re ready to do something meaningful while playing a crucial role in helping us build something special, here is some of what this role will entail.
Candidates for this position must have *at least *_*5 years *_*of employment law experience at a plaintiff’s firm*.
You must have extensive knowledge in all aspects of employment law, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour individual and class action claims.
Additional years of experience is highly preferred.
* *Legal Research:* Conducting research on employment laws, regulations, and precedent cases to assist attorneys in building their cases.
* *Case Management: *Organizing and managing case files, including legal documents, correspondence, and other relevant materials.
This also includes assisting attorneys in the management of case and trial deadlines.
* *Drafting Legal Documents:* Assisting attorneys in drafting various legal documents and pleadings, including complaints, discovery, subpoenas, motions and briefs specifically tailored to employment claims.
Additionally, handling contact with clients to complete draft discovery responses and objections.
* *Client Communication:* Communicating with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries related to employment law cases.
* *Document Review: *Reviewing and summarizing legal documents, contracts, and employment agreements to extract key information for cases.
* *Legal Administrative Tasks:* Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, filing documents with court clerk/e-service, and handling routine correspondence.
Additionally, the paralegal will direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.
* *Legal Billing:* Assisting in the preparation of billing statements.
* *Mediation and Settlement Support:* Assisting in the mediation and settlement processes by preparing relevant documents and coordinating communications.
* *Legal Technology Utilization:* Using Clio and other enterprise software tools for document management, case tracking, and legal research, as well as organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system as needed.
*Other job qualifications include:*
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel & Clio.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Fluency in English
* Spanish fluency a plus
* Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
