We are seeking a full-time attorney with a passion for immigration and experience in deportation defense and asylum.
_Job Description_ This position is for an Immigration Attorney position primarily focused in representing clients in removal/deportation proceedings.
Primary Job Duties – The position will primarily involve the following duties and responsibilities: * Attending Master/Contested/Individual Hearings.
* Preparing clients and witnesses for individual hearings.
* Conducting client intakes and advising clients as to strategies and defenses against deportation/removal.
* Preparing and accompanying clients to asylum interviews.
* Preparing and accompanying clients to USCIS interviews.
Secondary Job Duties – In addition to the primary duties listed above, the position will, at times, involve the following responsibilities: * Preparing motions, briefs, and evidentiary submissions for immigration court proceedings.
* Preparing, filing, and briefing appeals before that BIA.
* Writing and legal research in preparation of legal briefs for waivers and administrative appeals.
_Position Qualifications_ * Must have graduated from an ABA accredited law school and be a licensed attorney.
* Must have 2-3 years of experience in deportation defense and asylum.
* Experience briefing appeals before the BIA is preferred, but not required.
* Must have experience with both affirmative and defensive asylum applications.
* Must have experience in litigation, including examining witnesses on direct and cross-examination.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Foreign language abilities are preferred, but not required.
This is a full-time position with benefits, including paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays, and fully-paid health insurance.
The salary is commensurate with experience.
