*Summary* EduCare is seeking to fill an open Compliance Manager position to work closely with the After School Programs Director, After School Programs management team, and Chief Operating Officer.
The Compliance Manager has the primary responsibility for managing a compliance and audit program that supports EduCare’s key objective to be compliant with the federal and state grants, vendor contracts, and the regulatory requirements associated with providing its after school program services.
This role acts as an independent review and evaluator to assure EduCare’s compliance, and to ensure that any non-compliance issues or concerns are appropriately surfaced, evaluated, communicated, escalated and resolved.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include the following: • Visits school sites to ensure grant and vendor requirements are being met.
On-site visits include reviewing compliance systems and paperwork.
• Provides verbal and written audit results feedback to the site staff and management.
• Creates and prepares analytics for both compliance requirements and attendance goals.
• Identifies best practices and provides policies, procedures, and staff training to communicate these practices.
• Audits after school program attendance documentation.
• Coordinates monthly attendance tracking and reporting to EduCare’s clients.
• Audits after school program application documentation.
• Manages EduCare’s Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) audits.
Serves as key contact with Los Angeles Unified School District, Beyond the Bell Division (LAUSD, BTB).
• Manages EduCare’s Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process by communicating requirements and deadlines to staff, obtaining and analyzing the CQI survey data, and preparing the CQI reporting for EduCare’s After School Programs staff, management and clients .
• Manages EduCare’s APR submission to LAUSD, BTB.
• Tracks and submits EduCare’s activity calendars.
• Coordinates and maintains the equipment inventory and tracking.
Performs other duties or projects as assigned.
*Qualifications and Skills:*Combination of formal education, and paid work experience will be considered to meet the following: • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university or equivalent work experience required.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in after school programs, with a minimum of one (1) years’ experience as a Site Coordinator.
High School and middle school after school program experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal 21CCLC ASSETs and California state ASES grant program rules required.
• Knowledge in monitoring compliance, as well as developing and managing audits preferred.
• Strong relationship building skills; listening to and taking an interest in others.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills required.
Able to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, encourage, and motivate staff.
• Able to think innovatively and incorporate feedback into the program development process.
• Strong organizational skills, and ability to perform multiple, concurrent tasks with frequent unplanned requests and/or delays.
• Excellent productivity skills; self-motivated with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of and experience with data management, and various analytic tools.
• Impeccable honesty, integrity, and fiduciary qualities.
Interest and ability to professionally and enthusiastically represent EduCare in the public eye.
• Demonstrates persistence and resilience by the ability to learn from mistakes, receive and give feedback to others, and make any needed course corrections.
• Travel to the various After School Program school sites required.
*Supervisory Responsibilities* Currently manages one (1) part time direct report.
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.
