Gold Star Family Member Needs Financial Angel:
I am a Gold Star family member and a 30 year resident of my humble home in the San Fernando Valley.
My father, an OV-1 Mohawk pilot and honorable man was killed in action in a foreign war.
Due to divorce, chronic illness, medical bills and a reduction in personal income, I am in need of assistance in keeping my long-term residence and in helping me resolve several property challenges.
I am looking for someone to gift and/or lend money to pay for a property survey, legal assistance and perhaps to cover the cost of minor renovations so I can update the property and prepare part of it to become an income-earning rental space.
Neighbors have built a fence and wall on what I believe to be my side of the property as well as a view-blocking renovation that defies their original legal description of the intended work.
I believe the contractor and the neighbors were deliberately dishonest, but I cannot afford a surveyor or an attorney to help me in seeking justice.
I have very good credit and signficant equity but cannot get a home equity loan to cover these services because my monthly income is insufficient.
I wish there were financial opportunities for someone like me, other than selling my long-term home.
Alas, there are none available without sufficient monthly income.
I could increase my monthly income by renting part of the property but only after minor renovations are completed.
I have some of the materials and supplies to do so, but cannot afford the costly labor, etc.
Is there anyone willing to help an honorable Gold Star family member who is truly in need of help? Gratitude for all those with empathy and understanding who are willing to help others in their time of need, as I have done when I was able.
