Job Description Job Summary AECOM is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Environmental Engineer in our Westlake Village, CA, office to perform field investigations, field construction management, and manage tasks.
We seek a technically proficient individual that has strong capabilities and demonstrated experience with investigation and remediation of contaminated sites.
Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills will be necessary to work in our collaborative team-oriented offices; strong interpersonal skills are a must.
The candidate is available to be in our Long Beach or Orange, CA offices instead of Westlake Village.
Specific responsibilities include: Working within a team of technical experts to successful outcomes to meet clients’ needs.
Assisting with developing clear and defensible CSMs for complex sites ranging from uplands to contaminated sediments.
Evaluating complex environmental data sets, including the use of modeling and statistics.
Support remedial technology selection, remedial design and remediation construction.
Prepare plans and specifications used for project bidding and construction.
Data visualization and developing clear graphics able to convey technical concepts in an understandable manner.
Preparing, work plans, and technical reports, and presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators.
Actively communicating with the technical team and Project Manager.
Assisting with proposals including understanding client/project needs and aligned scopes, schedules, and budgets.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, including but not limited to environmental, mechanical, or civil engineering 2+ years of relevant environmental experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Candidate must be US Citizen.
Candidate will be required to pass a background check which will include a Motor Vehicle Record check, medical surveillance check (due to potential exposure to harmful chemicals) and a pre-employment substance test.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred.
Candidates to have already passed the FE exam and have an EIT status.
40 hour HAZWOPER Strong team worker, flexible and hard working.
Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to obtain professional registration as PE in California Knowledge of CA state regulations.
Experience with developing conceptual site models and preparing remediation strategies.
Experience with remedial technology selection, remedial design, and remediation construction.
Experience completing contaminant fate and transport evaluation and mass flux estimates.
Experience preparing 3D hydrogeological conceptual models Experience preparing plans and specifications used for project bidding and construction.
Understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, state regulations, and waste management requirements.
Developing UFP QAPP and other Federal project documents.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project team.
Ability to write and review complex technical documents.
Ability to prepare graphics and reports that present complex technical matter in a clear and concise manner.
Computer proficient in MS Office, statistical programs, and models.
Additional Information Compensation: Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation in Westlake Village, CA will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.
