* A construction superintendent oversees the operations of a construction site, from planning to completion.
The duties of a construction superintendent will vary; however, they can expect to be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and ensuring the safety and compliance of the site.
*Construction Superintendent- Commercial/Retail or Restaurant projects* *On-Site Builders Inc* *Construction Superintendent - Commercial* *POSITION*: Construction Superintendent – Commercial, Retail, or Restaurant construction projects *LOCATION: *Southern California *SUMMARY:* Seeking a Superintendent who will assume overall responsibility of the assigned project site and the daily activities of its contractors while exceeding the expectations of the client, both externally and internally.
*_MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS UNLESS_* *_OTHERWISE NOTED_* *_AS PREFERRED:_* 1.
10+ years of experience in the Commercial, Retail, or Restaurant construction industry 2.
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent 3.
Current 30 Hour CAL OSHA Certificate, First Aid & CPR Certifications (preferred) *RESPONSIBILITIES:* · The Project Superintendent shall conduct him/herself in a courteous, knowledgeable, and professional manner through leadership exhibited by one's actions and commitment to the project and also adhering to core values Safety, Merit, Character, Focus, Excellence, and Teamwork · The Project Superintendent will be responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and performance of all project disciplines in accordance with contractual requirements.
This includes but not limited to on-site coordination, safety, scheduling, construction quality control, cost management, labor management, equipment procurement and delivery, and on-site client contact.
· Develops, integrates, and maintains project schedule effectively with other trades · Daily coordination of work activities among subcontractors and Company personnel onsite · Maintains, tracks, verifies, and updates project files and paperwork (onsite and electronically) including "As Built Drawings," submittal verification/shop drawings, RFI's, layout · Conducts job-site safety evaluations · Continual observance of construction activities, noting the correctness and the overall quality of the work per the contract documents, and the refusal of sub-standard workmanship · Acts as liaison to clients, inspectors, and other visitors to the project · Oversees material take-offs/procurement and proactively reviews budgets with Project Manager to determine potential variances · Coordinates site logistics, subcontractor meetings, document/coordinate governing inspections · Independently develops accounts to widen scope and generates additional revenue through upselling, estimating, pricing, and negotiation *QUALIFICATIONS:* · 10+ years of experience in the Commercial, Retail, or Restaurant construction industry · 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent · Current 30 Hour CAL OSHA Certificate, First Aid & CPR Certifications (preferred) · Complete understanding of construction documents and specifications for assigned project(s) including all subcontractors' scope of work · Responsible and accountable for actions · Work is accurate and thorough · Independent worker with minimal supervision · Able to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas · Effective communicator using a variety of mediums · Can disarm an antagonistic situation · Customer-oriented · Able to allocate authority and/or task responsibility to appropriate people · Detail-oriented, diversity-oriented and enthusiastic · Ethical and upholds Company's set of values and accepted standards · Able to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result · Committed to fostering a healthy, safe workplace in which team members can deliver quality services that best utilize the resources (people, property, and financial assets) of the company and minimize the impact on the environment · Truthful and credible in the workplace · Able to maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with clients, co-workers, customers, and management · Organized, self-directs oneself and effectively leads others · Mechanical ability · Organized and systematic · Pro-active problem solver · Excellent project management skills · Great resource management with regard to the proper usage of equipment, facilities, materials, as well as personnel · Understands and leads in safety management · Can identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards · Self-motivated · Team player and builder · Able to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information · Superb time management skills · Always seeks to improve the informational, behavioral, and physical components of work which positively impact individual and team member health, wellness, and safety *COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:* Competitive salary with experience and qualifications.
