Job Overview:
We are seeking a Cost/Price Specialist at either our Canoga Park, CA or Huntsville, AL locations.
This role supports the procurement and estimating processes for significant subcontracts in support of all Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Aerospace and Defense products.
As a Cost/Price Analyst Specialist at L3Harris Technologies -Aerojet Rocketdyne, you will be responsible for developing, evaluating and implementing pricing strategies, models, and price volumes based upon manufacturing and engineering labor estimates, actual to date costs, supplier quotes, purchase order history, competitive market dynamics, RFP requirements, company policies, government regulations and corporate business objectives.
Pricing will be primarily for follow-on production and new business proposals in a dynamic, fast paced, deadline driven environment.

This responsibility includes an in-depth review of the supplier’s supporting data for each of the cost elements that make up the subcontractors proposed price, assessing subcontractor cost or pricing data for adequacy in accordance with FAR Part 15.
20% - Conducts fact finding in order to gain a thorough understanding of the subcontractors’ cost proposals as well as collect and review supporting data.
20% - Supports negotiations with suppliers, including, as necessary conducting price negotiations in coordination with Buyers.
10% - Assists with the development of negotiation positions and pricing objectives.
5% - When necessary, performs rate reviews at supplier facilities, which usually require supplier’s payroll information, as well as all other financial information that is used in the development of the proposed direct and indirect rates.
5% - Mentors and/or assists in training buyers in subjects related to cost and price analysis.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting or Finance preferred) or related field and a minimum of 10 (ten) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination.
Experience with TINA preferred.
Requires knowledge in: Applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Acquisition Regulation System (DFARS), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and processes affecting procurement and contractual functions.
Cost and price analysis techniques and government contracting.
General accounting practices, proposal methodology and estimating techniques.
General practices of statistics, pricing models, with reference to their application to revenue, cash flow, cost analysis, and projections.
Research methods and techniques.
Computer systems to prepare reports and documents with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
ERP systems and data extraction.
Technical report writing procedures and techniques.
Principles of decision analysis.
Required abilities: Research and analyze data.
Establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships.
Support supplier negotiations.
Prepare effective presentations of conclusions and recommendations.
Write formal cost/price analysis documents.
Train cost/price analysis techniques to peers and procurement professionals.
Operate effectively in a team environment.
Manage multiple projects with efficiency and effectiveness, and complete projects with a high level of accuracy.
Follow established procedures and instructions for conducting studies and preparing reports.
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, on technical and non-technical matters.
