POSITION OVERVIEW
Develops cost estimates for Company materials and products for customers by analyzing proposals and requirements.
Employs knowledge of the industry to prepare accurate information.
Collaborates with colleagues to boost sales.
Provides excellent customer service.
Performs related work as required.
REPORTS TO: Metal Services Supervisor and General Manager RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES • Reviews drawing requirements and identifies special needs and possible manufacturing concerns.
• Determines if a requested item fits within the Company’s manufacturing capabilities and product scope.
• Identifies missing manufacturing information, communicating with Product Managers, sales associates, and customers to obtain missing specifications.
• Verifies that customer provided drawings are drawn to scale, and are compatible to use with related software.
• Works closely with Product Managers, sales associates, and customers to increase sales.
• Follows up on quotes, maintaining and updating detailed log of all quotes sent to customers.
• Utilizes estimating tools to calculate material, manufacturing time and cost, and prepares final proposals for review and submission.
• Performs reviews of the estimating process and provide suggestions for improvements that may be beneficial to the continued growth of the company.
• Work collaboratively with other departments and divisions to provide support and/or request assistance as needed.
• Provides management with critical information as needed.
• Ensures that all information necessary for accurate and efficient production has been obtained and developed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

• Proficient knowledge of manufacturing, fabricating, and machining processes.
• Exercising independent judgement and decision making based on standard policy or working procedures.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer software.
• Strong communicator with the ability to work closely with customers.
• Experience or familiarity with laser, plasma, and water jet cutting processes is desired.
• Must be able to nest and calculate material requirements based on customer provided drawings or information.
• Being a self-starter who requires minimal supervision with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
SKILLS • Practically applying proficient math skills, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent planning, organizing, and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written skills.

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite computer software.
• Properly operates basic measuring tools, including calipers, a micrometer, and tape measures, converting metric and English measurements when required.
• Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD), nesting software, and machine programming is beneficial.

• Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS • High school graduation or equivalent • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a job shop or machine shop environment.
