Payroll Administrator – Job Description
This Position requires experience in Payroll processing and Certified Payroll reporting as well as a strong level of accuracy and adaptability capabilities working in a successful, high-volume, fast-paced Subcontracting firm of about 100 employees.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Administrator will report to the Controller.
They will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, time tracking and participate in data entry for payroll processing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Not limited to):
* Enter and generate weekly payroll for multiple locations, multiple unions, Federal and Public Works Contracts
* Prepare and process all payroll deductions, taxes and fringe benefits
* Prepare all Quarterly and Year End Tax Reports (i.
e.
: 941, W-2’s, ACA 1095-C)
* Accurately manage multiple types of time tracking, including electronic labor records.
* Assist Certified Payroll & Compliance Specialists
* Monthly Union Reporting
* Set up and maintain all personnel files.
* Prepare and update New Hire packages (update posters etc.
)
* Conduct new employee orientation and complete documentation
* Responsible for all HR inquires (i.
e.
: employment verifications, garnishments, EDD)
* Manage workflow to ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
* Assist employees with payroll, benefits and HR issues
* Assist in other departments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- 5 Years of experience working within the construction industry
- Experience with Foundation Accounting software required
- Experience with Certified Payroll requirements in the construction industry required
- Experience with Exaktime Labor reporting software preferred
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office, including EXCEL
- Ability to process and manage payroll in a confidential manner
- Knowledge of Multi-union/craft Payroll
- Working knowledge of Prevailing Wage Law and Certified Payroll Reporting preferred
- Must be detail oriented
- Analytical ability to properly interpret data.
- Strong Math skills
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines
- Excellent organization skills, time management and prioritization abilities.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills is critical
