Senior Accountant / Financial Analyst What does the job involve? Summary: This position will be responsible for all activities of the accounting function, including month-end closing, financial statement preparation, KPIs and submission of various reports to corporate.
The position provides direct support to Accounting, Finance, and operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
Complete month-end close process including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and applicable supporting balance sheet schedules.
Prepare and analyze Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Cash Flow Statements and research unexpected variances.
Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting packages including analytical reviews of monthly operating results and variance analysis to corporate.
Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well documented, accurate and timely financial reporting.
Assist with preparing and/or gathering support for internal & external audits.
Work with finance team on a variety of ad-hoc projects, as needed.
Ensure that all reconciliations, supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule.
Assist in the development and maintenance of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, working closely with business partners to identify key drivers and assumptions.
Analyze financial and operational results versus budget and forecast, investigate variances, and communicate findings to the management team.
Utilize financial and operational data to create insightful and actionable reports, providing commentary and variance analysis as needed.
Identify trends and potential areas for improvement within the organization, collaborating with business partners to develop action plans and drive process improvements.
Maintain fixed asset register and lease schedules.
Book and track intercompany transactions, perform month end intercompany eliminations and reconcile intercompany accounts.
Assist in maintaining strong control environment within all performed functions.
Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
Lead special projects as assigned by the Controller and VP Finance.
Utilize accounting and financial analysis skills (50/50) to complete the tasks listed above.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field of study.
3-5+ years of related manufacturing industry experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a combination of accounting and financial analysis experience roles.
(MUST have manufacturing industry experience.
) Demonstrated experience with GAAP analysis, month-end, journal entries, balance sheet and account reconciliation, internal/external audits, review of operating results and other related experience in a manufacturing setting.
Required Skills: Language: Ability to communicate in English (verbally and written) effectively with all levels of employees within the Company.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Strong Excel skills Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply all accounting principles.
Other Abilities: To perform this job successfully an individual must have experience with MAPICS manufacturing software and excellent MS Excel skills.
