What does the job involve? Summary: Operates gas or electric truck in and between department building and yard areas.
Collect and deliver a wide variety of materials and dies.
Keeps designated work areas supplied with dies ready to set in hammers, piles and stacks materials and dies safely in designated areas.
Sets up various types and sizes of drop hammers for standard runs and production parts in accordance with established methods and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to: Operates forklift with manufacturing, aisles and yards.
Performs operations of transporting and positioning materials such as moving dies and storage area and loading hammers and flasks in Requires ability to estimate load weight and balance, knowledge of proper loading and storage of raw, semi-finished and finished material.
Assists molder-lead, molder-kirk, die- grinder, in the foundry.
Assembles set ups for lead and kirk dies.
Pours lead and/or kirk in said set ups.
Sets up drop hammer for standard runs on production parts following proper procedures.
Aligns and secures punch and die to drop hammer head and bed.
Recognizes improper functioning of hammer and reports conditions to others.
Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the above, Set-Up Mechanics are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.

Education and/or Experience: High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 3-5 years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to work 2nd shift.
Required Skills: Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply a general understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Other Abilities: Must be able to set up drop hammer.
Must be able to use hand and power forming tools, wrenches, and templates.
Tools used: Hand tools, torches, and templates.
At all times must have a complete set of company tools adequate to perform the work covered by the job classification.
Equipment used: Fork Lift, Various types of drop hammers, overhead crane, their equipment such as pressure pads, forming, punches, and buckets to pour dies.
Materials used: Lead, lubricants, rubber, kirksite, and moldpac.
