We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper at Mez Investment Group, Inc.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with specific experience in real estate transactions and property management.
Proficiency in accounting software such as AppFolio and QuickBooks is highly desirable.
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
*Responsibilities:*
*Financial Recordkeeping:* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for real estate transactions, including property acquisitions, sales, and rental income, using software such as AppFolio and QuickBooks.
Record and reconcile financial transactions in the company's accounting software.
*Accounts Payable and Receivable:* Process and verify invoices, ensuring timely payment to vendors and contractors through AppFolio or QuickBooks.
Monitor and collect rental payments through the designated software, addressing any discrepancies or late payments promptly.
*Bank Reconciliation:* Reconcile bank statements regularly using AppFolio and QuickBooks to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
Manage cash flow by monitoring balances and making necessary adjustments.
*Financial Reporting: *Generate regular financial reports for management using AppFolio and QuickBooks, summarizing key financial data and providing insights into the company's financial health.
Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
*Compliance: *Assist in the preparation of documentation for audits and collaborate with external auditors as needed.
*Budget Management: *Collaborate with management to develop and manage budgets for real estate projects and ongoing operations, using AppFolio and QuickBooks tools.
Monitor budget variances and provide analysis to support decision-making.
*Qualifications: *
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the real estate industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in AppFolio and QuickBooks, along with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Knowledge of real estate transactions and property management is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.
