Loan Servicing Specialist

*LOAN SERVICING SPECIALIST* Velocity Commercial Capital, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Velocity Financial, Inc, an NYSE-listed public company.
Velocity Commercial Capital is a real estate finance company founded in 2004 that primarily originates and manages investor loans secured by 1–4-unit residential rental and small commercial properties.
Velocity Commercial Capital is seeking to hire a full-time Loan Servicing Specialist.
This position is located at the offices in Westlake Village, CA.
The Specialist, Loan Servicing is responsible for handling internal and external loan level inquiries and assisting with a variety of servicing activities related to performing and non-performing loans.
*Duties and Responsibilities* * Provide timely and accurate responses to borrower, broker, and internal inquiries via phone and email.
* Communicate with servicers to obtain and provide information.
* Proactively reach out to borrowers regarding the first payment due.
* Proactively reach out to borrowers when loan is approaching maturity.
* Monitor and process maturity date extensions in accordance with the loan documents.
* Create demand letters for mailing.
* Submit Special Servicing related invoices into accounting system for payment.
* Assist with creating a foreclosure referral in the servicing system for approval.
* Act as a backup to the holdback coordinators such as ordering inspections, inspection report reviews and creating wires for approval when needed.
* Update the servicing system accordingly including documentation of all communications, actions and uploading of related documents.
* Keep management team informed of volumes, hot topics, trends, challenges, and outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with internal policy and state/federal regulations.
* Establish and maintain working partnerships with other business units.
* Maintain good working relationships with third party primary servicers and vendors.
* Provide excellent customer service consistent with the organization’s business model.
* Perform special projects, additional duties and responsibilities as directed by manager.
* Other duties as assigned *Required Skills and Experience* * 5+ years of experience in mortgage loan servicing including non-default and default mortgage servicing functions.
* Ability to make sound decisions that align with the company’s goals and initiatives.
* Strong organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High attention to detail.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Salesforce experience preferred.
