*Job Summary:*
I am a real estate developer focused primarily in Malibu looking for a bookkeeper / assistant, 40 hours per week.
This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate; one that is looking for exposure to a variety of tasks and departments in the real estate and construction industry.
I would be working directly with the individual so they will receive a much more hands-on approach to running the business and learning about real estate development.
Strong organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills are extremely important within this position.
The candidate must possess a positive attitude (no task too big or small) and be personable with strong communication skills.
This job does not require coming to an office for the foreseeable future, but rather would require meeting 1-2 times per week in Malibu and/or communication via Zoom and phone calls.
*General Requirements:*
* 2+ years of bookkeeping experience as an office / executive assistant or related position (please mention relevance within your cover letter).
* Understanding of real estate and/or construction transactions and processes is a bonus.
* Highly organized, deadline oriented, and meticulously detailed.
* Strong multi-tasking abilities.
* Strong math skills.
* Strong professional and written communication skills with ability to take direction.
* Positive and professional attitude.
A proactive vs.
reactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making abilities.
* Independent and efficient; ability to problem solve.
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuickBooks, as well as a high aptitude to learn new software as required.
* Macintosh (Mac) experience a plus, as that’s the computer I’m familiar with.
* Must have a valid driver’s license with required insurance.
* Must have current legal documentation and authorization to work in the United States.
* Fluency in Spanish is a bonus.
*General Responsibilities*
* Daily record-keeping, organization, and filing of documents.
* Assist with permit processing and consultant coordination for projects (proposals, meetings, follow ups, etc.
).
Follow through and follow up are critical to this position.
* Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes, as needed.
* Receive and properly transfer/ assist all incoming calls and communications.
* Perform accurate research and analysis on assigned tasks.
* Cash and credit card reconciliation.
* Process all incoming and outgoing mail.
* Produce financial statements, P&L, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
* Research rental / sales markets and provide reports, as needed.
* Communication with accountants and preparation of year-end reports.
* Accounts payable (recurring bills, invoices).
* Preparation of checks and facilitation of transfers.
* Organization of consultant lien releases, general liability, and workers comp.
* Support construction projects with administration, scheduling, billing order and related project management tasks .
* Process all incoming and outgoing mail, as needed.
* Daily scheduling (appointments, meetings, etc.
).
* Creation, organization, compliance, and management of LLCs.
* File and retrieve corporate records, documents, and reports.
* Assist with social media campaigns and responses as needed.
*Compensation:*
$30+ per hour commensurate with experience and skill level (40 hours / week guaranteed).
Ability to transition to salary over time.
