Logic Pro X help needed and will pay for a solution (Tarzana)

Recently when trying to add a Logic Drummer track to begin.

the mouse/pointer does not work.
You'll see it in the vid.
I click, and nothing happens.
it use to work fine but occasionally would flare up and then go away.
All my software is current.
