For those in the know about classic British motorcycles (and classic bikes in general), a civilian model machine built in war time (remember—England was already at war in 1940) was a rare thing indeed, most being conscripted for the war effort as military models in olive drab, grey or desert tan livery.
This one of the rare civilian models that slipped out of Triumph's Coventry, UK factory only months before it was bombed and destroyed by Germany's Luftwaffe during the "Blitz.
