Job Title: Specialist, Industrial Security (Facility Security Officer - FSO) Job Code: 2097 Job Location: Simi Valley, CA Job Description: The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for the leadership, management, administration and strategic business contributor for security programs of national importance.
This position will act as the primary interface with US Government agencies and Customers, with regards to program security and contractual security requirements and report directly to the EM/RF Sr.
Industrial Security Manager.
This position will also assist with Government Property and interface with local U.
S.
Government Agencies and customers regarding FAR compliance.
The FSO is responsible for the businesses convergent security program, compliance audits, and information system protection.
Prepares reports, updates management on program status and continually evaluates and make necessary adjustments for a highly effective security program as a business discriminator.
The FSO will have an overall individual responsibility for protecting classified information, a contractual obligation, to ensure the effective implementation of security requirements and procedures within the facility involved in classified projects.
His/her actions are vital to provide the overall efficiency of the security program on behalf of company management and indirectly of the government.
Essential Functions: Responsible for the planning and development of security activities to ensure that company security policies and procedures comply with government standards.
Monitors company security policies and procedures.
May investigate violations of security and recommend corrective action.
Plans and instructs in-house security education programs.
Ensures that all appropriate personnel have attended security education programs and that documentation to that effect is maintained, as appropriate.
Acts as primary liaison with outside agencies.
Interfaces with government inspectors on a regular basis.
Responds quickly and effectively implementing corrective action, as required.
Responsible to keep Security Manager informed at all times of any suspected compromise to security systems.
Contributes to the preparation of presentations, proposals and quotes as needed for security related matters.
Demonstrating familiarity and successful implementation of 32 CRF Part 117 “National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule” Interpreting and implementing Security Classification Guidance Personnel Security, management/tracking of DD254s, Physical Security, Cybersecurity, Communications Security (COMSEC), Document Control and Visitor Control Maintain SIMs classified accountability system Maintain Defense Industrial Security System (DISS) and National Industrial Security System (NISS) accounts Provide assistance with the government property management oversight Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Current Top Secret eligibility to access classified information or eligibility Experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) successfully developing, implementing, managing security requirements in support of the NISP Experience supporting/managing compartmented programs is highly desirable.

) preferred In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $66,000 - $123,000.
