The Department of Surgery unit at Northridge Hospital Medical Center is actively seeking individuals who demonstrate patient care excellence.
We are seeking a Nurse Shift Manager for the unit to coordinate, supervise and implement patient care to patients Newborn to 18 years in accordance with individual needs based on competence, professional expertise, knowledge and evidence-based practice.
The Nurse Shft Manger is expected to practice autonomously, consistent with professional standards, Nurse Practice Act and hospital job description specific to the unit.
This position is critical to the success of Northridge Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission and organizational values of the Dignity Health system.
The Nurse Shift Manager plans the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.
Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift.
Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.
Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.
Ensure your direct reports and department are positioned to deliver the best care possible to our patients
High level of engagement with the floor- visibly connecting with nurses patients and families
Attend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives areas for improvement etc.

Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department

Qualifications
Associates Degree in Nursing (e.
g.
ADN).
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.
Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice
Basic Life Support (BLS) other credentials or credential modules may be required.
PALS certification required
LA City Fire Card required within 90 days of hire.
Pay Range
$49.
40 - $74.
