The Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight to ensure timely and appropriate provision of services and customer care.
This position manages and tracks all service referrals, waitlists, customer admissions, and customer transfers.
The Admissions Supervisor will clinically assess customers referred for mental health services and determine admission status.
The role will maintain close communication with Mental Health, Finance, and Quality Assurance departments to insure a seamless admissions process.
This person will communicate customer admission to appropriate program liaison.
The Admission Supervisor will also conduct in depth phone screenings and, as needed, clinical assessment intakes for customers referred for mental health services.
The position will supervise all engagement and admissions personnel to maintain adequate coverage of phones and window service during all business hours.
This person will oversee and assure customer engagement etiquette and adherence to the admissions procedural process.
The Admissions Supervisor will participate, as appropriate, with any program audit review pertaining to the agency admissions process.
*REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:* * Master’s Degree or higher in Psychology or related field * Licensed or registered with the BBS or BOP (MFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psychologist) * *Bilingual* *English/Spanish is a must* * Strong supervisory and management skills * Strong clinical assessment and triage skills * Strong customer relationship skills * Good organizational and time management skills * Must be detailed oriented * Communication skills that support excellent customer engagement and service * Ensure timely admissions of customers, and maintain effective intra-agency workflow * Must have 2 or more years of experience in psychologically assessing customers to refer for appropriate mental health services * Must be able to identify clinical risks and respond appropriately * Ability to complete written assessments in a timely manner * Proficient in DMH paperwork and timelines * Must be familiar with required Medi-Cal, managed health care companies, County DMH, and MHSA documentation and service requirements, including definition of Medical Necessity *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * 1.
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities successfully with minimal guidance 2.
Oversees flow of engagement area to ensure prompt engagement of customers 3.
Oversees flow of requests for services and admission conversion rate 4.
Ensures that engagement and admissions specialists adhere and follow the agency’s procedures and protocols 5.
Ensure referral and admissions process is maintained to agency and contractual standards 6.
Provide biopsychosocial assessment and determine mental health service needs 7.
Maintain standards of confidentiality 8.
Maintain positive work relationships in a respectful and collaborative manner 9.
Maintain good communication to ensure others have necessary information in a timely manner 10.
Sensitivity to working with culturally diverse populations 11.
Good verbal/written skills 12.
Utilize computer applications in a Windows environment such as Microsoft Word and Excel 13.
On-going coordination with programs (Intensive Services, School-based, Drop-In Center etc.
) regarding referrals, disposition of referrals, admissions, assignments, and admissions outcomes 14.
Maintains all DMH referral channels such as SRTS, VANS systems and provides community referrals as necessary in a warm hand-off manner 15.
Open mental health clients into Department of Mental Health Integrated Behavioral Health Information System (IBHIS) 16.
May act as a liaison to LAUSD contract entities, as needed, in collaboration with the School-based Coordinator and may assist in Developing and preparing SDA’s, MOUS, and continuation of Services Agreements for contracted school sites as needed 17.
