Medical Biller

```Job Summary``` We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team.
The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
```Duties``` - Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes using ICD-9 and other coding systems - Enter coded information into billing software or electronic health records system - Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures - Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail - Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, appealing as necessary - Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries or disputes - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records - Assist with medical collections as needed ```Requirements``` - Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9), and billing procedures - Familiarity with medical office software and electronic health records systems - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
