Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:
Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of Configuration Management.
Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialties.
Problems are generally solved through creative solutions, drawing from prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues.
This role also provides on-demand support to various engineering and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, DevOps support, and other tasking as required
Responsible for Configuration Management functions which includes:
Create and enter part numbers and parts lists into the system.
Analyze and review engineering change activities to ensure adherence to company procedures and policies as well as configuration management best practices.
Proper documentation and execution of proposed changes.
Ensure proper approval authority of changes.
Ensure proper notification of change releases and archival of documentation.
Identify and implement process improvements as approved by management.
Must have excellent attention to detail, organizational and strong communication skills.
Develop and maintain program processes and documentation as required
Qualifications:
Requires strong knowledge of job area.
Typically viewed as having a specialty within discipline.
May have broad knowledge of project management.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Requires intermediate technical knowledge in the functional job area including analytical and troubleshooting skills typically obtained through advanced education in a technical field and/or prior experience in an relevant engineering or technical support role such as: Configuration Manager (CM), Data Manager (DM), Quality Assurance Technician (QA/QE/QC), document controller, design drafter, technical writer, program operations analyst, systems support engineer, software engineer, integration and test engineer, specialty engineer, or similar.
Requires experience providing a high level of customer service and support to multiple internal customers, external customers, and other stakeholders in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Requires experience using version control tools such as Product Data Management system, SolidWork, AutoCad.
Willingness to work overtime and/or outside of normal business hours as needed to meet critical deadlines and business requirements.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).
Specific skills necessary include the ability to create and edit documents, generate and apply templates, generate and apply macros, edit and use styles, apply stamps, and apply other formatting functions within these tools related to various document elements such as table of contents, headers/footers, tables, figures, and appendices.
Knowledge of EIA-649C, MIL-STD-973, and other relevant Configuration Management standards.
One or more relevant Configuration Management certification(s) such as CMPIC or NDIA.
Experience reading and interpreting Statements of Work, Drawings, Schematics, and Parts Lists.
Experience in continuous process improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma or similar.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $84,500-$157,500.
