Position Summary The Line Service Supervisor is a customer service supervisory position that is responsible for supporting all ground operations for inbound and outbound aircraft crews and passengers.
In addition, Line Service is a support position to other departments: Charter, Aircraft Maintenance and Facilities.
Line Service Supervisors must have strong leadership skills, good decision-making skills, the ability to follow company procedures, flexibility in a dynamic working environment and must possess good interpersonal communication skills.
Safety is of utmost importance at Clay Lacy Aviation.
Line Service personnel work with fuels and other flammable, hazardous materials; proper handling procedures must be followed.
The airport area is a high noise environment; use of personal protection equipment is required.
Operating vehicles and moving aircraft in close proximity of people, buildings and other aircraft require extreme caution.
Procedures must be followed for your personal safety, the safety of others and protection of company and customer property.
The shift for this position is Monday to Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Job Responsibilities Directly supervise Line Service Technicians I-III.
Able to perform all the responsibilities and duties of Line Service Technicians I-III.
Participate in employee performance reviews.
Handle customer complaints.
Perform quality assurance checks on all line service activities.
Assist in initial and recurrent training of company personnel.
Actively participate in our Safety Management System (SMS) Interface with management and ensure that the operational schedule is fulfilled.
Delegates tasks to Line Service Technicians.
Ensures that manpower is allocated appropriately on the ramp.
Fuel aircraft in accordance with ATA Specifications 103 and AirBP GAFO Standards.
Tow and marshal aircraft.
Ensure aircraft are chocked, locked and secure.
Aircraft lavatory and potable water service.
Load / unload baggage.
Assist pilots with aircraft pre and post flight services.
Top off fuel trucks / complete proper fuel farm paperwork.
Operate ground support equipment.
Provide basic security duties to people and property.
Direct people, drivers and flight crews on ramp area.
Drive company vehicles off site for various tasks as assigned.
Assist other departments as required including facility cleaning and other tasks as assigned.
Engage with other leaseholders’ Line Service departments on the airfield to maintain a sense of community.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state the employee’s work location is based in, restricted licenses are not acceptable.
Pass FAA Drug and Alcohol drug testing, background checks and submit to random testing when required.
Complete NATA Safety First, Clay Lacy Aviation and other job-related training.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, direct interface, over telephone and in writing.
Ability to make decisions with multiple objectives and implement in a safe, efficient manner.
Follow oral and written directions; plan and complete assigned duties on a regular schedule; and maintain good working relationships with others.
Schedules are subject to change.
Employees must be available to work flexible hours as changes occur, examples include overtime, holidays, and covering time-off for the team.
All Line Service personnel may be required to work graveyard shifts at some point during their employment at Clay Lacy Aviation.
Ability to perform a variety of manual tasks including but not limited to: facility cleaning, vehicle washing, aircraft cleaning and vacuuming.
Ability to work without direct management supervision.
Must be comfortable with working outdoors, day, night and in all weather conditions.
Essential Physical Functions The following functions may be performed in variable weather and environmental conditions such as jet engine fumes, dust, or noise.
Step up and down stairs, ladders, tugs, vehicles, and fuel trucks.
Work effectively while sitting, standing, walking, or running.
Able to engage safely and effectively in gross and fine motor control movements such as operating machinery and handheld tools.
Reach at or above shoulder level including waving marshalling wands.
Execute hand signals in order to guide aircraft during arrivals and departures.
Complete tasks safely and effectively that require hand and eye coordination.
Lift, carry, push, and pull luggage from ground level to waist and overhead, up to 75 lbs.
Bending and stooping to pick up tow bars, tools, and other equipment, up to 75 lbs.
Stooping below aircraft wing to chock.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time, running when required.
Essential Cognitive Functions Must be able to reason, analyze, and solve problems.
