_We are looking to hire ONLY someone who is local for a legal assistant/legal secretary/paralegal position with COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE experience.
This position will often work alongside the in-house counsel.
_
_This is an in-house position, M-F 9-6p __*(NOT HYBRID, NOT REMOTE)*_
_We are specifically looking for these qualities:_
* _Commercial Real Estate experience_
* _Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment_
* _Understanding of real estate terminology such as type of leases (triple net leases, commercial leases) common area, etc.
_
* _Draft case factual memorandums with relevant exhibits_
* _Take dictation (must type over 60+ WPM)_
* _Prepare chronological timelines_
* _Keep legal files organized (paper and digital)_
* _Keep calendar for all legal cases_
* _Assist with and understand litigation including discovery issues such production of documents_
* _draft summons, proof of service, deposition subpoenas, admissions, interrogatories, etc_
* _review depositions and prepare deposition summaries_
* _create case summaries_
* _index legal exhibits_
* _assist in-house and outside counsels in preparing for depositions, trials, mediation, and arbitration_
* _proven experience performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment_
* _understand tenant-landlord issues_
* _understanding of some financing issues_
* _legal files organization (paper and digital)_
* _strong attention to detail_
* _excellent verbal and written communication skills_
* _possess a high level of work ethic_
* _skills to handle the review of complex issues_
* _draft letters, memos, emails and correspondences, answering the phone, copying, scanning when needed_
* _review of legal bills_
* _assist with selection of attorneys/law firms_
* _7+ years of Paralegal/ Real Estate Litigation Assistant experience in a law firm_
* _must have worked with commercial Real Estate matters in the past (familiar with real estate law, tenant-landlord issues, transactional law, and real estate litigation).
_
* _knowledge of acquisition and sale transactions and commercial loan documentation, including experience in handling and overseeing closing requirements, contract administration, title, survey and entitlements, due diligence review, as applied to commercial real estate transactions_
* _strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office and other legal software applications_
* _proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel_
* _conduct internet research_
* _conduct legal research when needed_
* _ability to work effectively and efficiently with attorneys, clients, and lenders, title companies, filing offices, and other outside organizations_
* _be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required_
* _demonstrated experience as a commercial real estate legal assistant/legal secretary/paralegal with knowledge in review of title, survey and closing of commercial real estate transactions_
* _ability to handle closing aspects of a commercial real estate sale and purchase, including review of title and survey matters_
* _possess superb organization, time management, and multitasking skills as well as excellent collaboration and communication abilities_
* _prior capability to provide top-quality, proactive, accurate and effective legal support in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision_
* _performs other related duties as assigned_
* _excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills_
* _this position is best suited for someone who is tolerant, with thick skin, who excels in a demanding environment_

_SALARY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE (NOTE: this is a company with less than 15 employees.
