Description We are now accepting applications for the Noncredit Instructor Applicant Pool.
Noncredit instructor pools are open on a fiscal year basis for continuous recruitment for department assignments.

The teaching assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations.
Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure.

Example of Duties College of the Canyons is seeking noncredit faculty members in Noncredit Physical Fitness Preparation for Public Safety.
Applications will be considered for immediate and future eligibility into the Noncredit Physical Fitness Preparation for Public Safety Applicant Pool.

Qualifications and Minimum Requirements Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Kinesiology/Physical Education.
OR - Master’s degree in kinesiology, physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education.
OR - Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND Master’s degree in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy OR the equivalent.
OR - Any bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught or the equivalent; OR - Any associate degree and six (6) years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught or the equivalent; OR - Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Kinesiology/Physical Education.
OR - For courses in an occupation for which the District offers or has offered apprenticeship instruction, the minimum qualifications for noncredit apprenticeship instructors in that occupation, as specified in title 5 section 53413.
DESIREABLE QUALIFICATONS Please detail on your application if you have: Experience working in Public Safety including Law Enforcement, Firefighting, etc.
Experience working with current and prospective Public Safety professionals to prepare for a physical abilities test (PAT).
Please note: Professional experience includes both work/occupational experience and teaching experience.
Teaching and occupational experience may be combined to total the required number of full-time years of experience.
Hiring committees review all complete, qualified application packets.
Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
A teaching demonstration may be required at the interview stage.
From time to time the equivalencies accepted by departments change.

Noncredit Salary Rate for Enhanced Classes: Starting at $88.
30 per hour.
