Dignity Health Medical Group – Northridge Family Medicine a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation is conveniently located on the Northridge Hospital Medical Center campus and offers full service family medicine hospital medicine maternity care sports medicine and pediatric services to the community.
In addition to more than 10 family medicine providers we are part of one of the few teaching hospitals in the valley where the Dignity Health Family Medicine Residency at Northridge (affiliated with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA) has educated family physicians for more than three decades many of whom stay to serve this community.
Responsibilities Position Summary: The Program Coordinator works under the guidance of the Program Manager to provide collaborative management to the Residency and Fellowship Training Programs to ensure continued program accreditation.
Program accreditation includes: independent organization and management of daily program operations consistent in quality and content requirements as mandated by the standards and requirements established by the ACGME and other accrediting agencies, Medical Boards and Dignity Health.
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization.
Responsibilities may include: - Collaborative completion of RRC program application forms required for the re-accreditation process; responsible for collection and organization of supporting data and participation with all site visits made by accrediting bodies (i.
e.
experience, educational activities, attendance documentation, operative statistics) - Responsible for the maintenance of all educational program documentation.
- Completion and obtaining reports from databases related to the residency program - Documentation of the resident's record for maintenance of current professional certification and licensure (i.
e.
, BLS, ACLS, ATLS permanent MD and DO) - Creation and implementation of annual resident rotation schedule in compliance with all educational experience requirements mandated by Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements, and other accrediting agencies.
- Responsible for assignment of all specialty and subspecialty rotations, including administration of arrangements and requirements necessary for outside rotations.
- Administration of didactic program adequate in quality and quantity to ensure compliance with the educational directives of the ACGME and ABEM.
- Statistical reports analyzing resident progression in program requirements.
- Monthly night/weekend on-call schedules while maintaining compliance with the mandated regulations resident working hours, distribution of monthly resident and student meal allowances.
- Coordination of Residency research projects, including maintaining and updating Residency lists for faculty and residents.
- Evaluations prepared and maintained to measure the education progression of residents in compliance with national requirements, including the resident evaluations of the residency program.
- Monitoring of resident educational funds.
- Tracking annual resident vacation/conference requests.
- Administration of assignments for rotations of medical students; include documentation of requirements, assurance of appropriate levels of supervision and evaluation, arrange housing requirements and meal allowances, as well as the creation of appropriate on-call assignments.
- Schedule all resident conferences and educational activities.
- Generate and maintain current affiliation agreements/contracts.
- Responsible for complete and accurate program information updates to the residency recruitment brochure and resident handbook.
- Verification of minimum requirement/criteria for candidate interview consideration: preliminary review of candidate files to establish level of qualification.
- Organization of selected candidate interview session, including the recruitment and assignment of faculty members.
- Conduct interview evaluation program to assist in the final ranking of program applicants - Submission of an accurate final ranking list for the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
- Develops orientation schedule and assists with curriculum development for new residency appointees.
- Submission of budget expenditure for residency program in compliance with hospital budget policies.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - Demonstrates expertise in the ability to operate independently to achieve and maintain high levels of successful project completion.
Capable of maintaining professional relationships with all levels of institutional personnel.
- High school diploma or the equivalent of 2 years experience in a business related field.
- Demonstrated professional expertise within multiple environments, placing priority on time management, organizational skills, and constant high levels of tact, integrity and confidentiality as the position consistently involves participation and/or management of confidential and sensitive data.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Accreditation experience preferred, including working with regulatory agencies.
