Kenter Canyon Elementary Charter seeks an outstanding teacher to plan, organize and implement high quality instructional programs for students with disabilities in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
*Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities*
• Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students
• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
• Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
• Teach and mentor students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
• Implement IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track their progress
• Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
• Supervise and mentor teacher assistants who work with students with disabilities
• Prepare classroom environment for class activities
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and school regulations
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
• Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
• Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities
*Required Qualifications:*
• Valid Mild/Moderate Special Education teaching credentials.
• Appropriate certification to teach English language learners (CLAD, BCLAD, SB395 or SB1969 certificate, BCC or LDS certificate)

• Skills in analyzing and using data to make instructional and behavioral decisions.
• Knowledge of BRIGANCE, WJ IV, DIBELS and other assessment tools
*Assignment and Salary:*
• 6-hour on-site commitment
• Single-Track School – C basis
