Middle School Tutor / Academic Seminar Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 10-Month, Category 5 Salary Range: $20-$25 per hour Reports to: Director of Learning Center Qualifications/Requisites Part-time/Full-time Position.
Bachelor’s preferred.
Looking for highly-motivated individuals with excellent project management skills, strong verbal communication, ability to work well with others in a group as well as independently.
Flexibility and adaptability are a must.
We are looking for outstanding Christian role models who want to help middle school students achieve their best.
General Oaks Christian is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to assist in the Academic Training program.
These individuals will work directly with the Director of the Learning Center to help train and tutor students in various subjects during the school day.
After school hours are also available.
Tutors may also partner with the Director of the Academic Success program and teachers to assist a select group of middle school students.
Individuals hired will be paid on an hourly basis.
Primary Duties · Role of the tutor with students: o Teach organizational skills o Train students to use their student planner and Canvas as a daily tool o Teach efficient study skills § Note-taking skills, flash-cards, study guides, review with teachers o Connect students to their teachers during office hours o Teach time management and best use of “open” periods o Provide accountability to turning in assignments consistently · Offer tutoring in multiple subject areas · One-on-one and small group tutoring · Communicate effectively and timely with parents on a frequent basis · Maintain a disciplined learning environment
