Teaching Assistant/Adult Assistant/Driver Needed at Dubnoff School, a nonpublic special education school in Northridge, California.
Our Schools serves 5-12th grade students with behavior, emotional, and learning challenges.
Staff working on AA degrees can earn $750 a year toward tuition and books and those with an AA working on BA degrees can earn up to $1,000 a year.
Staff can earn an additional $1000.

*Teaching Assistant responsibilities may include:*
· Assisting the teacher and students in the classroom
· Providing individual one to one support for one or two students
· Supervising students under the supervision of a credentialed teacher.
· Transporting students in school vans for those who want to drive.
*Driving responsibilities for those interested in driving may include:*
· Transporting students to and from school in school van
· Transporting students on school activities
*This position is full time and requires:*
· TB and fingerprint clearance (paid for by employer)
· Good driving record for those staff who want to drive (provide DMV printout at interview, which must be acceptable to our insurance company)
*The following is preferred:*
· Interest in working with special education students, primarily 5-12th graders
*The position includes being able to help change student’s lives and the following:*
· Salary of $17 up to $21 per hour
· 5-10 hours of overtime per week for drivers (Potential $300-$600 extra per month)
· Drivers may have ability to use van to drive to and from home
· Four weeks of paid vacation Plus Holidays
· Summer School session, 4 weeks in July.

Valley High School and Learning Center operates two private special education schools in the Los Angeles Area, Hawthorne Academy and Dubnoff School and has been in business for 35.
5 years.
Both schools are certified by the state of California to provide special education services to students in grades 5-12.
We serve students with a variety of disabilities including specific learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, behavior and emotional problems, cognitive disabilities, and some on the autistic spectrum.
Our school has a high staff to student ratio of at least 1 staff for every three to four students.
The philosophy of the school is to provide a structured and nurturing environment.
We use a two-tiered positive reinforcement system.
This system reinforces attendance, work productivity and behavior.
Each classroom has one special education teacher and at least two assistants with strong administrative support.
Additional support is provided by our counseling and behavior staff.
All staff are part of a team that works together to address the challenges our students face.
In addition to regular supervision from teaching and administrative staff there are weekly staff meetings, monthly in-services and additional training opportunities.
School hours are 7:30 am-3:30 pm and drivers hours are generally between 6-4pm.
Students are on our school campuses during the regular school year from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
