POSITION OVERVIEW
The Mathematics Teacher is a full-time teacher and member of the Mathematics Department, reporting to the Division Head and Instructional Leader.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the skills and passions of the discipline within a larger context of school mission, core values, and educational philosophy.
Primary responsibilities include teaching 5 mathematics classes per year (12.
5 classroom hours per week), serving as a Student Advisor, and collaborating on school-wide programming.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to design and implement instructional strategies that meet the diverse learning needs of students, accommodating various learning styles and abilities.
Further, they will have experience in engaging students through active learning approaches, such as collaborative projects, hands-on activities, and technology integration, to make math concepts more tangible.
Experience in and passion for middle-level education, emphasizing grades 6-8, and specialized understanding of the developmental, cognitive, and social characteristics unique to this age group is strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize innovative pedagogical techniques to enhance student understanding of mathematical concepts and real-world applications.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Monitor progress of each student for mastery of course standards.
Provide consistent high quality feedback to students that is consistent with articulated course standards.
Design high quality, student-centered lessons that are well-sequenced in terms of content and developmental appropriateness.
Establish a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Engage with students outside of the classroom through office hours, extracurricular activities, clubs and school-wide programming.
Pursue ongoing professional development.
Maintain clear and ongoing professional communication with parents and students.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, required, master’s degree preferred.
Previous teaching experience required.
Standard On-Campus Hours
Start: M - F by 7:45 AM
End: M - Th 3:30 PM, F 2:30 PM

SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $120,000
