(This is a hybrid position) *CLINICAL COORDINATOR* *Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program* *GENERAL FUNCTION:* Under the direction of the Director of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) is a member of the core faculty responsible for developing, conducting, and coordinating the clinical education portion of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging curriculum, enabling the program to deliver up-to-date Magnetic Resonance Imaging education and to achieve its goals consistent with the mission of Casa Loma College.
The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) will be responsible for managing externship programs and will ensure the externship site provides a quality learning experience.
The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) serves as a liaison between the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program and affiliated clinical education sites.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* *Coordination of Clinical Placement* * Coordinates and arrange externship for the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program students.
* Provide training and support to the clinical preceptors.
* Provide student orientation and assistance in completing all necessary documentation prior to externship start.
* Coordinate, track, and follow up on requirements for externship placements (immunization records, transcripts, certification, etc.
).
* Establish sufficient externship site to support the program.
* Ensure site contracts are up to date.
* Coordinate the initiation, approval and signing of sufficient affiliation agreements in support of programmatic needs.
* Conduct preliminary evaluation of externship sites to determine suitability for student experience.
* Present Externship and Site Assignment orientation workshops.
* Conduct monthly site visits to externship sites.
* Handle high volume of phone calls, email correspondence, data entry, and filing to maintain detailed communication with students and employers * Work closely with the Registrar to ensure accurate Trajecys record keeping.
* Collect and maintain records evaluate extern documentation and assess extern experience.
* Manage the educational process of students during the clinical externship period.
* Assist in development of strategies to maintain clinical relationships * Perform other responsibilities and projects as directed by Program Director.
*MINIMUM DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:* *Education* * Bachelor’s Degree of a related field of study from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution * Possesses current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in radiography or equivalent.
*Experience* * Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging * Experience with clinical undergraduate MRI education preferred.
* Minimum of three (3) years of work experience working as a staff Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist.
* Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes * Experience in a college setting * Experience in academic advising * Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems *Skills* * Professional demeanor with exceptional customer service who has the strength of developing and maintaining business relationships * Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques * Knowledge and understanding of academic programs operating principles and procedures * Records maintenance skills * Ability to interact with students, faculty * Highly organized and committed with strong prioritization and time management skills * Strong oral and written communication proficiency * Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedule be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude Proficient with Microsoft Office * Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule *Travel* * Travel is an expectation and requirement of the position.
Site visits to clinical locations are often required to assess the suitability if the site and to monitor students’ performance.
Visits to sites may be initiated by the site or the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) *SUPERVISION* * The Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) is supervised by the Program Director.
