Help us find a treatment for COVID-19 symptoms
Several treatments are now being used for COVID-19.
However, new treatment options are needed to help people recover faster from COVID-19.
The SCORPIO-HR Study is a clinical research study looking at an investigational drug for COVID-19 in people who have tested positive and whether it:
● helps resolve COVID-19 symptoms faster
● can reduce symptoms that persist for several months (called “long COVID”).
We plan to enroll a wide variety of participants because COVID-19 may affect people differently based on their age, sex, gender, race, and ethnicity.
You, or someone you know, may be able to take part if you/they:
● are 18 years of age or older
● have had a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 within the past 72 hours (3 days)
● are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, feeling feverish, fatigue, nausea, chills, headaches, or sore throat, among others, within the past 3 days (with one or more symptoms ongoing).
If you take part, you will be in the SCORPIO-HR Study for about 24 weeks and will have at least 8 study visits for assessments.
Study visits may be completed at the study center, at your home (if feasible), or over the phone telemedicine visits).
Participants may be allowed to receive locally available standard of care treatment for COVID-19 during the study, except for Paxlovid™ (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir) or other medications that can interact with the investigational drug.
You may be reimbursed for your participation in the study, depending on local regulations.
This study has been reviewed by an Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Ethics Committee (EC), which protects the rights, safety, and well-being of the participants.
