Listed Below is a Job Description of the Available Position: Overall Purpose of this position: This position is crucial to ensuring that our customers rent the proper equipment for the job and that the equipment itself is operational and ready-to-rent and that all proper documentation has been made.
This individual is also responsible for instructing customers on the proper use of each item rented.
A well-maintained rental center and properly serviced equipment are vital to the success of PDQ Rentals and the Customer Service Representative plays an important role in both areas.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Duties that must be performed in order for the job to be done) -Must read and write in English to complete paperwork, read instruction and service manuals, explain rental procedures and equipment operation to customers -Fully document items being sent out as well as the customer's vehicle license number and description -Must be able to lift up to90 lbs for loading, transporting and maintenance purposes -Employee will load and secure equipment in vehicles using straps, ropes, chains and binders many times during the day -Cleaning equipment, repairing it and certifying it is an important part of this position -Employee will be part of the team that keeps the Rental Center clean and inviting to our customers.
This includes sweeping, picking up trash, moving items to different locations and maintaining the break area Other Duties that may be included in the responsibilities of the position: -Filling propane tanks -Keeping the landscaping maintained -Using a forklift to access and store items on racking -Employee may be asked to do minor facility repairs and maintenance -Assist the shop in repairs as needed Relationships/Contacts (people or positions you must interact with to accomplish the tasks): -Customers -- good customer service skills and a welcoming smile are important -Counter staff -- communicating what items are going out, answering the page that a customer needs assistance, responding to equipment needs swiftly and positively -Suppliers and other vendors should be greeted and assisted courteously -Co-workers -- internal customer service is important -Shop staff to verify that equipment is rental ready and to learn from additional dimensions (Any other related information to add to the explanation of this position and what is necessary to complete the job): -Employee may be asked to complete other tasks as needed in the rental center.
If the office needs boxes stored, furniture assembled or something repaired the Customer Service Representative will be asked to help.
Changing light tubes, picking up trash in the parkway or sweeping up dirt could be required.
Flexibility and a good attitude are essential.

Qualification Requirements: \*\*\* Previous Equipment Rental Experience a plus \*\*\* Some of these skills or certifications will be provided in house, but having them on the entry level will allow the employee to start employment better trained for the job.
-Propane filling certification -Forklift Certification -Knowledge of small tool operation and maintenance -California Driver's License helpful but not necessary -Physical Demands (how much of the time is spent standing, sitting, walking, lifting etc): This is not a sedentary job.
Employees are on their feet most of the day and will be walking all throughout the Rental Center -Stooping and bending, twisting and reaching, lifting up to 75 pounds many times during the day -Pushing and pulling equipment, starter cords and other parts of rental items -Operating electric carts -Using pallet jacks, dollies and other carts and climbing ladders -Carrying equipment, coiling heavy cords, hoses etc.
-Grasping and using small motor skills to clean and repair equipment, tighten screws, reach into small spaces.
-Solvents and other cleaners are used as well as gasoline, diesel and propane -MSDS sheets are available at the rental counter To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
