Systems Administrator – Sylmar, CA
Quixote Studios is one of the nation’s premier film and television studios and is looking for a fulltime Systems Administrator to join the IT Department.
This position will be responsible for the design and ongoing support of various servers, systems, and technologies, while providing support of high demand, mission critical, complex business applications and functions for employees and external clients nationwide.
Typical responsibilities include installation and configuration of IT systems and applications.
Performing availability and performance monitoring, testing, troubleshooting, and developing detailed documentation, communications, and project planning.
This person will be responsible for building and maintaining all aspects of the company's technology infrastructure.
Environments and infrastructure include Office 365, Windows Server 2019, 2022, Active Directory, Entra ID, Windows 10/11, IIS, SQL Server, VMWare vSphere, VOIP solutions, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, SD-WAN, Blade & Rack Servers, HCI, VDI, Thin/Zero Clients and storage systems.
The ideal candidate must have excellent documentation skills, be able to follow instructions, and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Primary Responsibilities Implement, deploy, and maintain scalable solutions for a diverse mission-critical IT environment, including Cisco, Windows, Dell, Veeam, and VMware ESXi systems.
Develop and maintain solutions for data protection and recovery.
Adhere to and implement disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
Ensure completion of backups in the data center to meet company’s backup policy.
Installation and rebuilding of new server OS, systems hardware, peripherals, services, directories, storage, etc.
in accordance with standards and requirements.
Help desk and on-call support 24/7 including Quixote drivers and rental clients.
Day to day user account management, including administering Active Directory, Entra ID, Azure, Office 365,AWS other Saas and internal applications.
Maintain, update, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair systems, networks, and IT related services.
Maintain security of systems for compliance including SOX and PCI.
Remotely support a range of basic to advanced users over the phone, text, video chat and email.
Manage and support cloud based VOIP phone systems.
Manage and support multi-vendor physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.
Manage and support multi-vendor physical and virtual software/infrastructure.
Maintain service SLA's, including resolving escalated cases and creating company wide solutions.
Develop system engineering policies, documentation, and standards.
Adhere to and ensure compliance with all company IT acceptable use, security, and audit requirements, and take appropriate measures and actions to guard against fraudulent and unauthorized use of company computing resources.
Specifically, adhere to all company IT Security policies, procedures, and current best practices to enforce the highest level of IT security for the studios, corporate, and customer/tenant-facing IT resources.
Possess knowledge of Quixote physical locations procedures.
Conduct one on one and group training sessions with employees.
Support Quixote IT green initiatives Miscellaneous projects as assigned.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience with the ability to demonstrate capabilities.
4+ years of work experience in technology, technology consulting, and IT support, required.
A strong understanding of Azure and AWS deployment, security, scalability, cost savings, and ongoing administration.
A strong understanding of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Azure, Entra ID and Microsoft 365 is required.
A strong understanding of Window Active Directory administration and Group Policy, PowerShell scripts.
Backup, replication, and DR experience.
Server'Environmental Monitoring experience Hands-on experience managing systems and storage in multiple locations, geographic regions, and different time zones.
Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently as well as in collaboration with other technical staff.
Highly detail oriented with a proven commitment to high quality workmanship.
