The Mechanical Engineer 2 conducts design engineering activities in the Cable Product Line, including the following: analysis, product design, testing, and modeling.
The ideal candidate will provide expertise in electromechanical design and application engineering.
The candidate will utilize his/her knowledge of parts design, material properties, and engineering theory to develop and sustain the cable product line.
The engineer will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that works on programs that serve the defense, aerospace, and nuclear energy markets.
Candidate shall have experience with the development life cycle activities associated with the conceptual and detailed design, component selection, schematic generation, design documentation, and testing.
Job Core Responsibilities
Conduct design-engineering activities in the Cable Product Line, including the following:

The ideal candidate shall have experience with the development life cycle activities associated with the conceptual and detailed design, component selection, schematic generation, design documentation, and testing.
The Candidate shall:
Be responsible for maintaining the previously fielded designs and tools.
Assist with the acquisition of knowledge and development of technology regarding RF and industrial cable products, their applications, and manufacturing methods.
Interface directly with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Departments to support the manufacture and testing of RF and industrial cable products.
Provide technical input to the Marketing and Contracts Departments.
Job Specifications
Required Experiences/Skills:
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional engineering experience
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a concurrent engineering environment
Leadership skills and the ability to be a self-starter
Modeling experience using SolidWorks
Experienced user of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong communication and documentation skills are essential
Desired Skills:
Experience working in a high-reliability aerospace environment
Experience with RF and microwave devices and/or systems
Experience with aerospace industry standards and specifications
Experience with materials properties and selection
Ability to perform stress analysis using Cosmos
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California.
Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.
Pay Range: $77K - $128K
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
