In your role as an engineer at Horizon Surgical Systems, you will design components and systems (hardware and software) as part of a complete product subjected to FDA regulations.
Your design will be subject to safety and efficacy requirements
The level of title will be determined case by case, based on the candidate's qualifications and years of experience: senior engineer, staff engineer, principal engineer or higher.
Required Qualifications and Abilities:
Educational Background:
Bachelor (with at least 3 years of industrial experience), or Masters Degree (with at least 2 years of industrial experience) in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering
Software Development Skills:
Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
Proficiency in AI/ML and computer vision libraries such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, TensorRT, OpenCV
Proficiency in software version control (e.
g.
Git)
Proficiency in real-time Linux
Familiarity with CUDA
Is a plus: FPGA for AI/ML models
Experience:
3-5 years of software development experience for robotics product, ideally with 3+ years in a regulated product development or medical device manufacturing environment
Knowledge:
Software development for real-time application of AI/ML models designed for computer vision problems
Computer vision and image processing algorithms
Object oriented programming
System performance benchmarking
Communication protocols
Linux operating system
Hands-on Experience in
Design, develop, and test software for robotic systems with imaging modules such as camera

Good communication (verbal and written) and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test imaging software with AI/ML models for robotic systems
Perform imaging system performance analysis and improve the performance
Works with other team members to quickly revise the design
