As an Engineer you will bring your accumulated medical device product development experience.
In this role, you will design components and systems (hardware and software) as part of a complete product subjected to FDA regulations.
Your innovative and robust design will be subject to safety requirements and demonstrate efficacy to deliver a superior product to support the surgical community leading to outstanding outcomes for the patient.
General responsibilities of the engineer include: Use a broad range of engineering tools (analytical and numerical modeling, analysis, prototyping, etc.
) to create components and systems as part of a complete product solution.
Quickly understand novel technologies and engage with moving them forward towards a product.
Efficiently analyze problems and synthesize your experience and breadth of knowledge of engineering fundamentals to generate innovative ideas and design concepts that meet the business needs.
Lead effective design reviews and ensure that products are developed appropriately in a medically regulated environment.
Work collaboratively with the development team to create product specifications in accordance with ISO 13485 to meet business requirements and assess risks; this may include, but is not limited to: product specifications, risk analysis, and verification test protocols.
Adhere to and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS), including developing and maintaining documentation.
Cooperate with and understand the design challenges being addressed by other project team members; help determine and drive toward solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior team members.
Support the development and maintenance of project plans, setting and adhering to milestones, deliverables and budgets.
Education and Working Experience Bachelor, Masters, or Ph.
D.
Degree in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering 3-5 years of software development experience for robotics product, ideally with 3+ years in a regulated product development or medical device manufacturing Environment Technical skills Software development for application of AI/ML models designed for Computer vision problems Computer vision and image processing algorithms System performance benchmarking Proficiency in Python Proficiency in AI/ML and computer vision libraries such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, TensorRT, OpenCV Proficiency in software version control (e.
g.
Git) Responsibilities Design, develop, document, and test imaging software with AI/ML models for robotic systems Perform imaging system performance analysis and improve the performance Works with other team members to integrate and revise the framework
