Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Sr.
Staff Systems Engineer to lead the systems engineering efforts on our Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) Production program with our talented team in Northridge, CA.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the full systems engineering lifecycle of missile / weapon system development and production programs.
They will also have the technical depth on one or more of the subsystems of missile/weapon system.
This candidate will support the Program Manager on the proposal and program planning for the various systems engineering efforts on AARGM production and development.
This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects to leverage on existing technology as well as working with the program team to innovate system architecture to adapt to the industry and customer’s needs.
In this role, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to): Lead system engineering team to plan and execute AARGM Production Program on systems engineering efforts.
Support production proposal, including the development basis of estimates and support the development of the technical documentation.
Identify staffing and resource needs on the program; allocate available resources to best support the proposal and production activities.
Lead the effort of system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements qualification/verification activities for any component being replaced on the production system and related support equipment.
Manage critical subcontractors for the developing and testing of production upgrade/replacement and delivery of quality products.
Ensure program execute per company processes and standardize new processes identified during program execution and from lessons learned in Production.
Support customer weekly meetings such as Risk and Opportunity, Program Corrective Action Board (CAB).
Lead review meetings such as Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) meetings.
Responsible for Systems IPT Monthly EACs.
Review all proposed configuration changes presented in various review board meetings, such as Engineering Review Board (ERB), Change Review Board (CRB), Software Configuration Change Board (SCCB).
Review technical documents such as verification plans, procedures, results, reports.
Manage System Technical Performance Measures.
Collaborate cross-functionally and with IPTs and SMEs to establish and maintain coherent information among team members; integrate Specialty Engineering Functions across program.
Provide recommendations to Chief Engineer and Program Manager to ensure baseline design (including product support elements) integrates across the system to satisfy customer requirements.
Act as an advisor to inter-organizational management and external customers on technical research studies and applications for the current and future development.
Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met.
Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.
This position is contingent upon available funding/program award.
The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA.
Basic qualifications: *Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of systems engineering experience; will consider Master of Science in an Engineering discipline and a minimum of twelve (12) years of systems engineering experience.
Must have extensive experience in leading engineering efforts in a production environments for defense/aerospace/weapon systems Must have extensive experience covering the full systems engineering lifecycle on a complex system Must have experience in failure investigation and root cause analysis Must have technical leadership experience.
Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion.
Preferred Qualifications: Active DoD Secret Clearance with periodic reinvestigation within the last five (5) years.
Extensive experience working in missile development and/or production program Have deep technical knowledge in multiple subsystems of a missile system Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering Experience with Digital Engineering Experience in internal and external audits *Living in Northridge offers a perfect combination of urban living with the beauty of nature.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
