THE DEPARTMENT AND POSITIONThe Recreation Department manages a full range of recreational and special activities for youth, adults, and seniors.
The department also schedules activities, building rentals, picnic reservations, sports fields and tennis courts.
Childcare Aid's will assist in facilitating and leading before and after-school care programs and supporting the department's overall childcare program.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties and Responsibilities: Typical job duties are: Active supervision of children in the after-school program.
Support the implementation of educational and recreational activities that promote physical, mental, and social development.
Foster a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children.
Interact with recreation staff, youth participants, caregivers, and the general public.
Cordially assist those with questions and inquiries.
Present and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, including wearing appropriate attire for the position and exhibiting respect and enthusiasm as duties and responsibilities are carried out.
Set up and take down equipment and ensure all equipment and supplies are properly stored.
Enforce rules and regulations of programs and facilities as mandated by Department policies and procedures.
Complete appropriate reports and forms as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Other helpful Information: Program runs August 2023 - May 2024 El Cerrito Recreation offers after school programs at three elementary schools (Harding, Fairmont and Madera)Hiring at all levels – youth work “rookies” to experienced Teachers.
Pay range depends on experience.
Positions are part-time and are approximately 15-20 hours per week Shifts are flexible and range Monday-Friday 1:30pm-6:00pm, depending on location
