We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to foster and support interest in a nature-based curriculum with an emphasis on the outdoor classroom and STEM.
The ideal candidate will join a close-knit family of early childhood educators and work collaboratively to research, develop and implement a host of activities, programs, and events designed to fully immerse preschool students in understanding, respecting, and most importantly protecting the world around them.
*Responsibilities:*
* Develop themes and activities around STEM and an enriching nature-based curriculum
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff
* Design teaching materials using resources from the environment
* Maintain an inviting, clean, and organized outdoor space
* Working with the other teacher to ensuring the safety of children
* Helping children with toileting/diapering
* Providing supervision of children and supporting children during both outdoor and indoor play
* Keep classrooms and program materials clean and well organized
* Supervise lunch and prepare and serve snack
* Track and communicate progress regularly for parents and caregivers
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff
* Writing a weekly newsletter
*Requirements:*

* Ability to speak and write Spanish fluently a plus
*Education and Experience:*
* Minimum: 12 units in Early Childhood Education
* Infant/Toddler units either completed or enrolled in
* Outdoor classroom training a plus
*Physical Requirements:*
* Frequent standing, walking, and moving while supervising children
* Occasionally lift and/or move children of all sizes
* Comfortable getting dirty with sand and dirt
*Work Environment:*
Segray is a preschool program for ages one to six years, comprising its two locations, Segray Eagle Rock and Segray at the Oaks.
