The "Treehouse" Apartment is shared with only one other, me, and the Room/Vanity/Bath is very private.
Thank you! Lots of info below.
.
.
: ===================== DEAR Potential Roomer! A comprehensive ad here ~ for a comprehensively complete Retreat-like Place 4 U!! :) (fully Covid-Vaccinated & Boosted, please, as I am too.
) Read on.
.
.
! - - - - - This loft-like "Treehouse" retreat, equal to four floors up/top floor, is in Fox Hills, Culver City, CA.
Elevators are available when needed.
A restful place, quiet, with meandering walkways, waterfalls, running streams, and numerous trees filling the lovely grounds of this property.
Add to that, very "hearable" running streams below this particular dwelling to soothe you! Parking surrounds the grounds.
In some ways, this is a "Green Property": no cars (except occasional maintenance) allowed on the grounds; efficient landscaping; recycling.
I'm waiting for Management to go for some updated solar panels now - and hopefully, they will consider outlets for charging EV cars! They have done some new roofing which is climate-friendly, at least.
SPACIOUS: Very large space (the 2 bdr/2bath apartment itself is apx.
1200 sq.
feet).
Your private space: close to 300 sq.
feet altogether.
The bedroom is 187 sq.
', the separate vanity 72 sq.
', the bath (w/shower & tub) 40 sq.
'.
Conducive to true rest for a professional who works outside/ commutes, or "works from home" too, and just for "uncramping" generally (!).
It's also a great study room (handy desk/bookshelves), for writing/organizing, or even for doing artwork (either firsthand or digitally).
Hence those from nearby colleges might be interested: e.
g.
, Loyola Marymount Univ.
, Antioch (walking distance away), Otis Art Institute, Nat'l University, West LA College - or even UCLA via short commute.
Or any professional in the area! More PERKS: ---FREE filtered Kangen Alkaline Water - what do you pay per month for good bottled water? I used to pay $40-$50.
This clean, smooth, various pH-levels ionized water is free and very good for you! ---First month FREE comprehensive Yoga Class once/week on the grounds in the charming "mountain-lodge" Clubhouse; a limited number of participants due to pandemic precautions; however, when you live here (and I'm the one who teaches the class b.
t.
w.
- certified, experienced), you're at the top of the list! - worth apx.
$50/month.
Covid measures are taken - & small group of participants (4-5) allowing for more individual attention.
One great benefit (of many) - guaranteed: you'll sleep the best ever! ---BIDET in your Bathroom (hooked w/toilet) - a double-clean approach (catching on in the USA):) - priceless? LOL ---AIR PURIFIER - can be moved to any Room, including yours, as you may like; and excellent FANS in Baths.
.
.
to keep them aired out.
---Also, there is a FRESH-AIR IONIZER in your Room.
---SMOKE/MONOXIDE ALARMS (several) - for safety ----Small FRIDGE in your Room.
Right there is a not-usual savings of at least $100/month :) plus other more typical perks, below.
And the spacious space (and bidet?!) are, well - good for hygiene and mental/emotional health! Furnished, including quality bed & bed-frame; there's room for a favorite small furnishing, if like.
- - - - - - - - Described below: COSTS, other PERKS, and all AMENITIES on the grounds: RENT & any other Costs: $1560/month - with our sharing electricity and property utilities (as indicated, both electricity and utilities together come to about an average of $60 each person/month + or -).
In the summer, utilities are lower.
A one-time Security Deposit upon renting: $875.
00, most all refundable upon vacating (to be explained).
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ No-smoking in-dwelling or on-property (Culver City ordinance).
Also, no drugs or heavy alcohol.
Mostly a "vegetarian" household with flexibility.
Share occasional conversation over tea/coffee or other? - of course, open to such.
.
.
! Also included with rent (including the above perks) / no cost to you: ---WiFi ---DirecTV (in living room - and can be installed in your Room, if wish) ---Parking spot, covered, (your own assigned) in gated garage ---Filtered Water (healthy Kangen, Alkaline, ionized) above-mentioned, in the super-clean kitchen ---Air Purifier as mentioned - excellent (cleans living-room/dining/kitchen, but can be moved to any room, including your Room for a bit, too!) And there is the Ionizer in your Room.
---Yoga, free class once/week - then by donation after the first month.
---Access to all Amenities on the grounds.
.
.
HEATING: Separate heating in every room, so the electric bills are not massive! Summer doesn't require much, if any, heating, and air-conditioning is almost always unnecessary (cool on these grounds), but fans and an ionizer are available if needed.
WATER, emphasized here: The kitchen gives you the free, filtered, healthy Kangen Alkaline ionized water - again, no need to purchase water! As for water for SHOWERS and Baths: you never run out of hot water - or if so - it would be an extreme rarity! And newly-renovated LAUNDRY Rooms (two very close by) are handy and spacious, cleaned every day by the property's Housekeeping.
We share a MAILBOX.
And the MAILROOM is super efficient, secure (with lockers) for receiving PACKAGES.
Texts and/or emails with a code are sent to you when your package arrives; the code opens the locker containing your package.
Voila! Simple and secure.
- - - - - - - - - - - There is RENT CONTROL in Culver City now (2-3% average, fluctuates with cost-of-living, no higher than 5%).
Culver City has a Mediation Board for mediating any rent increases & related matters.
Rents have stayed stable.
If there is a rent increase, we share the increase.
YOUR ROOM and the place generally are SPECIALLY CLEANED - will be specially cleaned and sanitized before move-in, according to CDC guidelines.
No one with covid has been in this dwelling, so no worries.
Full vaccinations required including booster(s), and of course general precautions taken.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ AMENITIES ON GROUNDS (and see PIC of the largest pool near a gazebo on one end - and there is the "mountain lodge" Clubhouse on the other end) ---Peace of mind on restful, safe grounds and in a safe neighborhood; gated property, gated parking ---24-hour Security Guard roaming the grounds, willing to help, always available, good people, good security co.
PANDEMIC & COMMON-SENSE MEASURES with Amenities: AMENITIES ON THE GROUNDS are open, now, but mask-wearing and/or social distancing are encouraged in the common areas of the grounds ~ ---Clubhouse - beautiful, like a "Mountain Lodge" ---Quiet Room in Clubhouse.
overlooking a pond and waterfall! ---Coffee/Tea/Hot chocolate, free, in Clubhouse, mornings til 1:00 p.
m.
---Yoga in Clubhouse, as series of classes are scheduled ---Men's and Women's Spas with jacuzzi, great sauna, & showers ~ usually never crowded ---24/7 Gym - equipment & weights, etc.
---Huge Heated Pool (the PIC of Pool in this ad!) ---Two other pools on the grounds, as well.
---Outdoor Jacuzzi ---Tennis Courts ---Occasional free catered events, arranged by Mgmt.
The facilities are cleaned/sanitized where due between usages.
The Business and Leasing Offices serve you with common-sense pandemic precautions.
The property is prudent re cleanliness during this "residual pandemic" and generally.
MAINTENANCE is timely and excellent, when needed.
Maintenance and Personnel are mask-wearers.
============= LOOKING FOR: ! Suitable for a mature professional or serious student or intern.
Me? Am an instructor in the Arts and writer/editor.
.
.
with a sense of humor :) and quiet lifestyle.
.
.
Often out three evenings/week, so you have the kitchen to yourself! - - - - - - - DESCRIPTION, if you want details beyond PIX: The Treehouse is 2 bdr / 2 bath (yours with separate vanity) in a Swiss/Spanish "chalet"; some MiddleEastern decor in the living room, complete with huge wood-burning & gas brick Fireplace (no cost for gas), a Dining area with Spanish chandelier overhead, and a bright, handy, super-clean Kitchen with all equipment & supplies.
High dark-beamed ceilings (with whitewashed planked wood in between the beams) grace the living room, dining area, and kitchen.
And white/lighter high beams are in the other rooms (your Room is refreshingly all white with white beams); the bathrooms are not beamed but have high ceilings.
Your Room, as mentioned, is lightly furnished and has a very large closet with space to spare.
And as PIX show, there is an L-shaped legal-type desk with an L-shaped bookshelf and cabinet.
The Floor-to-ceiling Window displays TREES plus nice sunlight, depending on the time of day.
And.
.
.
You hear the soothing man-made RUNNING STREAMS below (from most areas of the apt.
), running everyday from early morning until about 8:30 p.
m.
! The white/very-clean KITCHEN is fully equipped and supplied, but there is a cabinet for you and space of course in the kitchen fridge, etc.
(And you have your small fridge in your Room.
) Dishwasher, Fridge, Microwave, etc.
.
Juicer & Blender available, and of course the Kangen Alkaline Water Machine, and a cute Bar area over the kitchen.
A wet-bar off from the dining area.
PRIVACY: The ROOM is very private and separate, being the end section of this Treehouse and of the building, though there is a common entrance.
The Room itself is larger than some NY Greenwich Village singles I've seen! A sliding door in the hallway outside your Room also cuts sound nicely.
BATHROOM (yours) has a tub/shower.
The Bath, Vanity, and Bedroom have large mirrors.
Already mentioned: excellent fans keep the bathrooms aired out.
And the dwelling has the three smoke-&-monoxide alarms, one in your Room.
one in the nearby hallway, and one in the living room.
SIZE of dwelling: Overall, the apartment is apx.
1200 sq.
feet, with an attached BALCONY laden with plants and a sitting area, with the RUNNING STREAMS right below.
Great neighbors, too - next door and across the hallway.
Your Room, as said, is on the end of the "Treehouse".
.
.
and at the end part of this entire building, so privacy and quiet are very much perks.
- - - - - - FURNISHINGS in the Room include: ---a quality Sealy Posturepedic Full Bed (completely cleaned & disinfected 4 U) If you have a preference for your own mattress, arrangements might be able to be made.
The bed frame stays and is very nice.
And PIX show some of these.
.
.
: ---bedside charming table, small, white ---Chest of drawers, wicker/white ---Unique cloth shelving (as well as upward wood shelving) in the HUGE closet ---Desk with bookshelves above, as described and as seen in PIX.
---Sound system available that fits in the shelving.
.
.
to be explained ---Chairs: one folding (others available).
a comfy dark-brown wicker chair (as in PIX), & an upholstered chair.
---Lamps - esp.
good for computer work, etc.
---The small fridge in your Room, for extra goodies ---Cabinet and drawers (built-in) in Vanity; medicine-cabinets too ---Shelving in your bathroom.
.
.
and cabinet built-in - - - - - - THE PROPERTY IS LOCATED in Fox Hills, Culver City (40,000+ population) - its own city in the middle of West L.
A.
, A strategic area for getting to: a back-way to downtown L.
A.
Just a few minutes to Playa Vista area and 12 minutes "commute" to Marina del Rey, Playa Vista, Playa del Rey, Westchester, and the Beaches! :) Shopping nearby: Trader Joe's, Sprouts, Westfield Shopping Mall, and a handy strip mall with a juice bar, Quiznos, etc.
walking distance away.
Two charming small corporate hotels are close by: Courtyard by Mariott and Four Points by Sheraton.
This property has a few Guest apartments available too.
Restaurants, other businesses, and more are in the area, including the Howard Hughes Center - and the various colleges and universities mentioned.
Close enough to LAX, and to the 405 and Marina Freeways.
Easy access to Santa Monica, etc.
Downtown Culver City is about 15 minutes away by surface streets: a charming small city with chic to simple restaurants, the historic Culver Hotel, movie theatres, and the Kirk Douglas onstage theatre - and more! ============ RENTAL ARRANGEMENT - APPLYING, etc.
: The property requires that you apply through them - an easy enough process in Leasing.
They ask for I.
D.
and for you to fill out a simple Application.
.
.
Good credit is a good idea (over 640+ score) and they ask about provable monthly income that is around at least two-and-a-half times (2-1/2 times) HALF of the rent amount of the apartment (can explain flexibility here, questions welcomed), e.
g.
, around $4,000-$5,000+/month.
.
.
Your income can come from any source, made provable to the Leasing Office.
The last three bank statements showing at least a determined amount and/or proof from your employer telling your income, etc.
, can suffice.
There is an Application & Credit Check fee - cost, $50.
00.
- - - - - - I ask for References, and I have some for you about myself! After you've decided this is the place for you and we both feel good about that: If you are out-of-town/state/country (!) or can't move in until an agreed later date - you've decided and qualified for the stay here, then a Holding Fee (toward your Security Deposit) of $500 is asked of you until you arrive/move-in.
This insures that the Room is yours (and that I don't rent the Room to anyone else even if they should offer more money or give some persuasive reason).
More explanation available, not complicated! Good character/honesty and general thoughtfulness are important.
And, a generally positive attitude welcomed! After approval, your name is put on my Lease which is "month-to-month" b.
t.
w.
Then we have a month-to-month Agreement - which is the more important Agreement since you are a "Roommate".
Upon leaving, you simply sign a Roommate-Release form with the property and I refund the bulk of your Security Deposit (to be explained upon meeting).
Easy.
I prefer a longtime Rental (but am open to a short-term rental).
Even with a long-term rental, we can go month-to-month.
; however, in some cases I ask for a three-month beginning commitment, then month-to-month.
My recent longer-term roommate ("month-to-month") stayed nearly a year before moving with her job; my last pre-pandemic longtime roommate ("month-to-month") stayed nearly three (3) years and was going to stay longer, but guess what, yes, sadly she lost her longtime "secure" job because of the pandemic and moved out-of-state to a new experience.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FOR YOU, a new experience?! :) The Room/ Vanity/ Bath, all the trees, and the soothing running streams just below - are waiting for you! - - - PLEASE CONTACT: JULIE via Craigs EMAIL.
.
.
at "REPLY" above.
Do tell some about yourself and your housing needs - and include your ph# with the best time to reach you! Thank you! Have a hopeful and enjoyable day! :).
