Job Title: Tax Staff Accountant
Reports To: Tax Director

Your Role: We are looking to hire a Staff Accountant - Tax to join our team who will help with the preparation of tax returns and assist with related client tax matters.
The ideal candidate will have experience in tax return preparation, a solid understanding of common tax rules and regulations, and will be knowledgeable in accounting principles.
This candidate should either be studying for or have parts passed for CPA license or be CPA minded.
What will you do?
Prepare tax accounting adjustments and financial statements for individual, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
Prepare personal, corporate, partnership, and estate/trust tax returns
Understand client tax issues and situations, and assist with tax research
Assist with IRS issues and drafting responses to governmental correspondence
Prepare Payroll tax returns for state and federal reporting
Assist other team member with accounting responsibilities as necessary
What Do you Need to Succeed:
2-5 years of tax experience with a public accounting firm
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in accounting
Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks along with tax preparation software such as BNA and Pro-System.
Ability to analyze issues, perform research, and demonstrate critical thinking to apply recommendations
Understanding of tax concepts related to individuals, C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, estates and trusts
Ability to interact and communicate with clients (written, verbal, and in person)
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset.
Ability to work in a team environment
Self-motivator with excellent organization skills
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma required / College diploma preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Occasional, standing, walking, crouching, and lifting to 15 pounds
Frequent use of hands and reaching with hands and arms
Regular talking, hearing, seeing, and sitting
Moderate to the loud noise level
Risk of electrical shock
Salary Range: The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $85,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
