The Satellite Avionics Manager creates a customer experience that reflects Duncan Aviation values and culture and leads by example to cultivate that experience among all team members; and provides leadership by creating a team atmosphere where members are challenged to provide superior customer service and a quality product to the customer in an efficient, professional and safe manner.
This position leads in meeting financial goals and objectives; and establishes and communicates goals and measurements and holds team members accountable to Duncan Aviation approved policies and procedures, Repair Station General Operating Manual (RSGOM), and FAR's to ensure compliance of work performed.
The manager inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, removes and replaces complex aircraft instrument and avionics components and systems using various hand tools and test equipment to meet manufacturer's specifications, FAR's, industry standards, and RSGOM in a safe and organized work area; performs as Qualified Inspector (QI); and acts as a positive role model by mentoring team members and supporting company and shop decisions.
Essential Job Functions 1.
Develops and maintains relationships with area customers and communicates with sales and marketing personnel.
Responds to customer requests for sales, service, work status or scheduling.
Gathers and passes on information to sales team members for potential service sales opportunities, aircraft ownership transactions, modification of aircraft, etc.
Represents Duncan Aviation to the local aviation community in a positive and professional manner.
2.
Manages all aspects of shop projects to ensure safety, quality and efficiency throughout the projects.
Accepts full ownership of assigned projects from pre-planning to delivery of the aircraft through planning, prioritizing, and communicating with customers, team members, OEM's, outside contractors and vendors as necessary.
Ensures the safety and security of customer's equipment during all maintenance phases.
Completes accurate and timely documentation of work performed or reviews prepared documentation.
Performs final review of work orders and works with customers to resolve disputes.

Manages team by scheduling and assigning work for team members and monitoring day-to-day activities of team members.
Holds team members accountable to Duncan Aviation approved policies and procedures, RSGOM, and FAR's to ensure compliance of work performed, professionalism, safety and cleanliness of the work environment.
Ensures the team's consistent use of appropriate technical data.

Troubleshoots, repairs, checks out, inspects, returns-to-service aircraft avionics and instruments using appropriate tools and test equipment in accordance with customers expectations, manufacturers expectations, RSGOM, FAR's, and other appropriate technical data.
Performs as a QI.
5.
Leads team in meeting shop financial goals and objectives.
Creates, executes and oversees shop's annual budget and strategic plan.
Recommends and initiates programs and measures to improve quality, procedures, customer service, efficiency and working conditions.
6.
Promotes growth and development of assigned team members to promote team cohesiveness and trust by monitoring and evaluating team members' performance in a professional, positive, accurate and timely manner.
Recommends training needs and programs and identifies and recommends technical and non-technical training opportunities for team members.
Monitors currency of team members' training records.
Participates in personal and leadership development opportunities and demonstrates leadership and professionalism.
7.
Manages and maintains adequate and appropriate parts inventory certification, calibration of assigned tooling, working condition and cleanliness of test equipment and support vehicles.
8.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; eligibility for Repairman's Certificate; QI designation Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; on-call and frequent multiple night travel Physical: Reads small print and identifies colors; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.
