The Lead Welder is responsible for welding/fabricating projects in an efficient manner.
We fabricate a number of different products including: awning frames, canopy frames, steel canopies, aluminum canopies, posts, etc.
In addition, this position will be involved in weekly production meetings, setting their department's schedule, and executing this schedule.
We work with a combination of light gauge tube steel, light gauge aluminum tube, some heavy metals, and other aluminum extrusions.
In addition, this department if responsible for frame painting.
Skills/Qualitifications:
· Bilingual in English/Spanish
· Proficiency in Mig /Tig/Stick/Flux Core welding steel, structural steel, aluminum, stainless steel
-Experienced using, MNC Press Brake, Cold Saw, Horizontal Band Saw, Tube Bender, NC Hydraulic Shear, Angle Shear, Lathe, Drill Press, Grinder, Sander, Ironworker, forklift operation.
· Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
· Set up equipment and weld parts according to welding chart specifications/Plans.
· Fitting, and fabricating metal components.
· Heating, forming, metal parts with hand tools, torches, and arc welding equipment.
· Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating parts, warping, shrinking, and distortion.
· Follow safety guidelines, including proper machine guarding and lockout and tag out procedures.
· Mig / Tig/Stick/Flux Core welded to drawing/blueprint specifications.
· LA Certified welding Knowledgeable, does not need to be certified.
· Geometric Tolerancing & Dimensioning
· Know how to read a tape measure and working with leveling equipment.
