What does the job involve? Summary: Responsible for all activities relative to routine receipt of materials, supplies, parts and equipment from vendors, and shipment of parts for outside process, and completed assemblies to the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to: Works from sales orders, shipping memos, packing slips, purchase orders, etc.
, required to effect routine shipment and receipt of parts and/or materials.
Opens crates and boxes and makes accurate count and identification of materials, items, and parts; checks against packing sheets or bills of lading and reports discrepancies.
Validates, counts, measures and weighs parts and finished units for shipping against disbursing documents.
Packs wrapped or unwrapped parts, assemblies, and materials in crates or boxes; packs such items with packing materials; checks and blocks within the shipping container as required to assure weather and shock-proof protection from damage in transit per available instructions.
Applies stencils to cartons, crates, boxes or materials to provide addresses, shipping, or other information.
Loads, checks, and blocks crated or unpackaged raw stock, and parts, assemblies and non- productive materials on trucks and trailers.
Operates all types of material handling equipment.
Disburses items to departments concerned as noted on purchase order or by instructions from supervisor of the department.
Prepares and processes all necessary paperwork such as bills of lading, manifests, daily shipping and/or receiving reports, shipping memos, and related documents as required.
Maintains records of department as necessary.
Performs other associated operations in connection with the work described.
Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the above, Clerks are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices.
