Vintage 1976 Guild B-50 nt acoustic bass guitar - $1,200 (SFV)

This is an amazing bass made in 1976 by Guild, considered to be one of the only factory made true acoustic basses.
Solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, back is arched.
This a huge instrument with an 18” lower bout and a depth of 6 3/4”, it can project much better than most acoustic basses and was designed to hit people in the back of the room.
This one was well played and had numerous cracks in the top which were all filled and cleated.
The action was extremely high when I got it so the original bridge was sanded down to get the action lower.
The bass is very playable now with no dead spots, the action is still a bit high but it contributes the volume and punch one can get from this thing.
If you wanted to get it to play like a modern acoustic bass then you would need a neck reset but you would also soften up the sound and cut the volume a bit.
The strings currently on it are fairly old but I like the sound of them.
