Single Post In-Ground Car Lift (Westlake Village)

I have a 1960’s era single post car lift installed in my side yard from the previous owner.
It is air over oil and it works smoothly, though I haven’t tested it with a load.
To the best of my knowledge the oil is contained inside the post in the ground.
I am seeking advice or assistance in removing it in exchange for someone keeping the lift, but I admit am not sure if it has any value to anyone.
I am aware of one method which is to raise the post, cut it off, lower it down and bury it but I am interested in a more environmentally friendly solution.
I am also willing to negotiate and pay for help with the safe removal of the lift.
