Position: ACE Instructional Assistant will assist instructors, reinforcing materials and lessons covered during programming to facilitate student learning.
ACE Instructional Assistant will provide additional layers of support to ensure overall youth development.
The Instructional Assistant must exhibit a willingness to collaborate with a diverse group of students, educators, and administrators.

Is familiar with standard approaches to accurate participant record keeping, including timely charting, notation formats, content limitations, and confidentiality practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Attends and participates in all mandatory meetings.
Fosters positive relationships with community members and partner organizations.
Participate in cultural and community-building activities/events.
Works to incorporate into organizational culture best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, restorative justice, and trauma-informed care.
Provides support to the instructors and program staff.
Assists with classroom activities and lessons including facilitation of instructor’s lesson plans.
Works with individual students who require additional or modified instruction.
Administers assessments and quizzes to students.
Grades assignments and completes other clerical work related to classroom operations.
Prepares materials to be sent home with students.
Monitors students when the instructor is out of the classroom.
Escorts students to other areas of the school; monitors their behavior during class time and lunchtime.
Occasionally works as a substitute instructor.
Provide small group instruction, lead educational activities, and provide individual classwork assistance as requested.
Make copies, organize supplies, and perform regular clean-up duties.
Reinforcing teachers’ instructions and expectations to facilitate a positive learning environment.
Support with best practices for program culture, including restorative justice and de-escalation techniques.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required, Associate's Degree in relevant field or some college preferred; or Equivalent combination of training and classroom experience.
Prior experience working in a school or youth development setting is preferred, but not required.
Spanish language skills, verbal and written preferred.
Possess a current California Driver’s License, clean DMV record & adequate auto insurance.
Must submit to a Department of Justice Criminal background check.
Initial TB employment clearance required.
