POSITION OVERVIEW
The Social Science Teacher is a full-time teacher and member of the Social Science Department, reporting to the Division Head and Instructional Leader.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the skills and passions of the discipline within a larger context of school mission, core values, and educational philosophy.
Primary responsibilities include teaching 5 Social Science classes per year (12.
5 classroom hours per week), serving as a Student Advisor, and collaborating on school-wide programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide differentiation and intervention when necessary and appropriate.
Monitor progress of each student for mastery of course standards.
Provide consistent high quality feedback to students that is consistent with articulated course standards.
Design high quality, student centered lessons that are well-sequenced in terms of content and developmental appropriateness.
Create a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Engage students outside of the classroom through office hours, extracurricular activities, clubs, and school-wide programming.
Pursue ongoing professional development.
Maintain clear and ongoing professional communication with parents and students.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required, masters degree preferred.
Previous teaching experience required.
Standard On-Campus Hours
Start: M - F by 7:45 AM
End: M - Th 3:30 PM, F 2:30 PM

SALARY RANGE: $60,000 - $120,000
